In the middle of the night last night, I made a sweet potato, pecan, maple, bourbon pie. (I was winging it.)

Tonight, I made a maple bourbon whipped cream to go with it.

4whippedThe pie tastes great, but when you cut it, it looks more like a scramble-crumble-hash. And I used too much bourbon in the whipped cream so it didn’t quite “whip.” It’s more of a dip.

5sliceI think this is the first time I’ve ever baked anything from scratch. Writers can get really creative when coming up with new and different ways to avoid writing.

On that note, I’m about to get pie-wasted.
